Requirements for each Participating Teacher in the Sacramento BTSA
Consortium are the same, whether the participant is signed up for
CSUS graduate level credit or not.
First Year Participating Teacher
Focus: "How to Teach"
Ninety hours of direct participation culminating with a teaching
portfolio. (90 hours is equivalent to 6 units of graduate level credit
from California State University, Sacramento).

Weekly Individual Coaching & Small Group Tutorials based on the California Standards for
the Teaching Profession (CSTP)
and Student Content Standards using the California
Formative Assessment and Support System for Teachers (CFASST)
as a focus.
24 Hours
Professional Development based
on the California
Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP)
and Student Content Standards. Participating Teachers may attend
four 6-hour Saturdays sponsored by BTSA.
12 Hours
Formal Observation Assessments
and a Portfolio Colloquium
8 Hours
Four District Support Seminars. Each is a two
hour class. Sessions are determined from the Participating Teachers'
identified needs.
Second Year Participating Teacher
Focus: "What to Teach"
Ninety hours of direct participation culminating with a teaching
portfolio.
