Experienced Teachers are Support Providers

As the name implies, the key role of the Support Provider is providing personal coaching support to participating teachers as they go through the two year BTSA induction program. Support providers also play a key role in the participating teacher's self-assessment process.

To prepare for this role, Support Providers become certified by completing BTSA Support Provider Training:

  • Year I of the California Formative Assessment and Support System for Teachers (CFASST)
  • Year II of the California Formative Assessment and Support System for Teachers (CFASST)
  • Towards Equity, diversity training

Because their role is so important, the support provider selection process is rigorous.

Providing Support for Participating Teachers

  • Meet with participating teachers an average of 1.5 hours per week for 29 weeks
  • Guide participating teachers through the California Formative Assessment and Support System for Teachers (CFASST) as a reflection of their current teaching assignment.
