About Us

The Sacramento BTSA Consortium is a collaborative involving the Sacramento County Office of Education, sixteen local school districts, and the California State University, Sacramento. The Consortium brings professional educators together for the purpose of looking at the art and science of teaching. Our targeted stakeholder is the new teacher to the profession and/or the new teacher to the State of California. We provide a two year induction program that offers the following benefits and incentives: money, supplies and materials, personal coaching from a skilled veteran, formative assessment feedback based on neutral evidence collected over time, professional growth opportunities, and CSUS graduate level credit. Those who provide the most support to the emerging professional teacher are our trained, highly skilled support providers and site administrators.

We are proud of the professional educators that participate in and contribute to our program.

The Sacramento BTSA Consortium

Our role is to administer the approved Professional Teacher Induction Program to ensure that teachers are rigorously prepared in the content they will be authorized to teach, as well as in methods of teaching and classroom management.

The consortium provides:

  1. An approved Induction Program that provides for the clearing of the candidates preliminary credential. This program clearly defines an umbrella of standardization within the consortium, while meeting the needs of individual district's unique cultures.
  2. Intensive personalized coaching and support for self-assessment from a Support Provider.
  3. Four professional development Saturdays and a Colloquium. Professional Development is based on participants' surveyed needs and include presenters, facilities, and all materials.
  4. The resources of the Sacramento County Office of Education including the MY BTSA website for teachers and the Technology and Learning Resource Center.
  5. Opportunity to receive graduate level academic credits at a minimal cost.
  6. Ability to network with other members of the consortium.
